Time For Some Closure

January 26, 2022 by Jared Gray

The last six years have changed us all. Back to back crises, none of which ever really were resolved. Isolation, frustration, chronic stress, complete upheaval in the way we live our lives— Nothing is the way it was, and it will never be quite the same again. Even before the pandemic, I was struggling with […]

Now in stores!

September 18, 2018 by Jared Gray

Now in stores!

Changing Hands Bookstore has always been one of my favorite local independent booksellers. Now they’re my absolute favorite because THEY PUT MY BOOK ON THEIR SHELVES! You should go to their Tempe store and buy many lots books (including mine so they keep stocking it). Help support these awesome people who have absolutely made my […]

Paperbacks are here!

The bulk order of paperbacks arrived today! Once I finish my happy dance, I’ll get to signing them and printing address labels for the people who’ve already placed orders. I might even send them out a little bit early as a thank you for the preorder.

Krista D Ball and The Strong Female Character Trope

September 16, 2017 by Jared Gray

My wife showed me a wonderful, though long, post by Krista D Ball about the trope of the Strong Female Character, how it goes wrong, and how that’s not necessarily what we need anymore. I agree with pretty much everything she wrote. I’ve never fully understood the obsession with making every single female character “strong”, […]

SagCom Portal Ships

SagCom Portal Ships

I stumbled upon Anthony Howe’s work some time ago. It’s amazing and mesmerizing in so many ways. This is the inspiration behind the final […]

Oh, lovely. Android camera now tags all file names with PXL instead of IMG. No way to fix it. Because trying to protect my privacy wasn't hard enough with Google products as it is.

I really, really don't want to join the Cult of Apple, but they keep pushing me that way.

What does it say about our society that I’ve known about the term “schadenfreude” for decades, but only just now learned that it has an antonym: freudenfreude is the enjoyment of another person’s success.

Even autocorrect knows about schadenfreude, but not freudenfreude. https://t.co/D6o6rou5qj
